Ich unternahm diese Reise 2017 zusammen mit Tarik. Es war ein wirklich einmaliges Erlebnis. Jeden Tag gab es etwas Neues zu entdecken, schöner und interessanter als ich es mir vorstellen konnte. Die Landschaft des Sinai mit den Bergen, die je nach Tageszeit in den tollsten Farben leuchten, hat mich fasziniert. Vor allem die Canyons mit Gesteinen in den verschiedensten Formen und Farben von weiß über gelb, orange und rot boten ein wunderschönes Naturschauspiel.
Dort in der Wüste gab es nichts als mich, den Reiseleiter Tarik und unseren beduinischen Fahrer. Wir hielten einfach an den schönsten Plätzen an und genossen die Natur und die Stille um uns her. Und wenn ich unterwegs etwas entdeckte, was mich interessierte, war es nie ein Problem, auch ungeplant anzuhalten und dort etwas Zeit zu verbringen.
Der Sinai ist für mich eine ganz besondere Gegend. Hier fühlt man sich wirklich mit der Geschichte und den Menschen, die hier einmal lebten verbunden. Besonders beim Katharinenkloster, auf den Berg Sinai und unterwegs an den vielen Felsen, in die Menschen vor langer Zeit Bilder und Zeichen eingeritzt haben.
Tarik hat auch immer wieder gute Ideen und Geheimtipps: z.B.
eine Nacht auf dem Berg Sinai zu verbringen, war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis. Die Berge leuchten bei Sonnenauf- und untergang in den tollsten Farben. Die meisten anderen Touristen kommen nur kurz bei Sonnenaufgang, den Rest der Zeit hat man ganz für sich alleine, nur mit den Bergen und dem Himmel.
Am Ende der Reise kommt man direkt aus der Wüste ans Rote Meer. Hier trifft man wieder auf eine ganz andere Welt, Auch hier bestechen die Farben, das Braun der Wüste trifft auf das Blau des Meeres. Endlose Strände laden ein zum Verweilen. Die bunte Unterwasserwelt der Korallenriffe kann man beim Schnorcheln entdecken. Da ich aber nicht die geborene Taucherin bin, machte Tarik kurzerhand noch eine Fahrt mit dem Glasbodenschiff möglich.
unsere Unterkünfte waren einfach, passten aber perfekt zur Umgebung. Ich fühlte mich wohl, egal ob bei den Beduinen in Serabit oder im Hotel am Strand von Nuweiba. Der schönste Platz war der Campingplatz von Ain Hudra. Die Oase ist von Bergen umgeben, die Zelte stehen im Schatten von Dattelpalmen. Auch hier ist man der Natur ganz nah.
Unterwegs taten mein Reiseleiter Tarik und der beduinische Guide alles, damit ich mich wohlfühlte. Der Wasservorrat war immer aufgefüllt, das Essen war immer frisch und lecker zubereitet. Wir machten unterwegs oft Picknick an wunderbaren Orten und tranken Tee am Lagerfeuer.
Alles war perfekt geplant. Tarik hatte jedes Detail gut vorbereitet, sodass unterwegs alles klappte und nie Zeit damit verschwendet wurde, auf jemanden zu warten oder etwas zu suchen. Aber auch, wenn ich unterwegs einen speziellen Wunsch hatte, war immer genug Zeit, das auch noch einzuschieben.
Auch die Leute, denen wir unterwegs begegneten waren immer freundlich und offen. Ich fühlte mich überall willkommen.
Auf jeden Fall möchte ich diese tolle Gegend, den Sinai weiter erkunden. Das werde ich natürlich wieder mit Tarik zusammen tun!

I did this tour in 2017 and it was absolutely fantastic. The landscape is so beautiful, you can’t get enough of it. And when the light changes at dawn or sunset, it‘s magnificant. The colours are so intense not only from the changing light, but also from the different stones. Especially in the canyons you have rocks that go from deep red to orange and yellow.
There is only you, the guide and the beduin driver. You can stop and stay whereever you like and enjoy the silence and nature around you.
You can also feel that Sinai is a very special place, especially around the monastry of St.Catherine but also at mountains, where people scratched pictures or signs into the rock thousands of years ago or at the nawamis.
Staying overnight on Mount Sinai is great. The light at dawn and sunset changes the colours of the mountains. And there is nothing but you, the mountains and the sky.
In the end you get from the desert to the blue Red Sea. It’s another world again, the brown colours of the desert next to the deep blue oft he ocean, the beautiful beaches and the coral reefs.
The accommodations were simple but they fit into the landscape. You could feel at home there. The most beautiful place to stay was the campsite of Ain Hudra, an oasis surrounded by mountains, where you sleep in a tent under palm trees.
My guide Tarik and the beduin driver did everything for me to make my trip perfect. There was always enough water and lovely food. We had picnics at fantastic places with tea from an open fire.
Everything was well planned and Tarik had organized every detail so that there was no time wasted by waiting or looking for something. Nevertheless, if I had a special wish, there was always enough time to do that.
I enjoyed everything, every moment of the trip. It was never boring, the days were filled with good experiences. The people we met were very friendly and openminded. I felt welcome at every place we stayed.
For sure I want to visit this beautiful place again one time but for sure together with Tarik!!
