Cleopatra Oasis

The famous Queen Cleopatra, who fascinated the great emperors and continues to fascinate the world until today, was haunted by the magical effect of the Amun oasis.

A small oasis-like a little paradise inside the desert called ( Amun oasis ) the modern name is Siwa.

This Oasis which fascinated The great pharaohs like Ahmos the 2nd and Alexander the Great, who visited the oasis after a long adventure in the desert lasted for 8 days to visit his father Amun as Alexander is the son of Amun regarding of the holy birth.

Siwa Oasis lies in the western desert, not far from the border with Libya and about 300 km inland from Marsa Matruh.

The oasis is enormous about 80 km long and 28 km across at its widest point, it has a population of around 10.000. It has become an adventure site for tourists looking for what unique and special.

The oasis was famous in the ancient time because of the oracle temple which has been built by the king Ahmos the 2nd (570-526 BC).

The tourist activities in the oasis are various, unique and interesting, like the historical buildings from the pharaonic time, (the oracle temple, the mountain of the death and Cleopatra swimming pool), the desert activities like sandboarding, camping, star gazing, jeep safari, the amazing landscapes and the real life of the desert Bedouins.

It has become an adventure place for tourists looking for something unique and special.
