The origins of present-day Cairo can be traced back to the Egyptian capital of Memphis, which is believed to have been founded around 3200 BC near the head of the Nile delta, south of the present city of Cairo.

It was in Memphis that the Romans constructed their city called Babylon, Muslim Arabs in AD 641 later founded a city called Al Fustat near to Memphis, Then a dissident branch of Muslim believers known as the Fatimid conquered Egypt in 969 A.D., they established their headquarters in the city and called it Al-Qahira (Cairo).

That what created the unique diversIty in this city which played a very important role throughout history, Cairo is one of the biggest cities all over the world, around 22 million people are living there.

Starting from the pharaonic time till the modern time, you will find yourself moving from an era to the other so smoothly, with all the aspects which distinguish an era from the others.

The first thing is coming to your mind when thinking about Cairo is the pyramids, but is that all?
